Your Habit Formation Style is...

Incentivizing Me

will add to my life.

You value the immediate reward you get by an action and find it is easier to add new habits to your life in order to achieve the rewards you seek.

This Habit Formation Style seeks to feel a certain way after which drives your actions. This style may be more relevant for those habits that seem to form subconsciously.

You may look back and think, “Oh yeah, I ate that bag of potato chips because I wanted to be happy.” The focus is on how you want to feel after and that feeling becomes the reward that drives your action.

Your mind-space is often seeking to improve feelings and you look for opportunities that may help you achieve that.

Potential weakness: You may look for quick fixes and solutions without considering the healthiest approach to feeling better.

Adding to your life! This Habit Formation Style focuses on adding behaviors to your life.

You are more likely to focus on the benefits a behavior may have on your health and life prior to implementing that behavior.

You find it easier to execute desired habits when they are additions to your life. You find it harder to consciously stop or minimize habits you already have. There may be identifiable barriers that keep you from stopping certain habits.
