Your Habit Formation Style is...

Give Me Rules

that add to my life.

You appreciate lists given to you by experts that allow you to create and implement new habits in your life.

This Habit Formation Style appreciates the opinion of experts. You have faith that others with significant credentials and authority have made recommendations that allow you to confidently pursue the creation of a habit.

You are likely more conscious in your approach to the habits you form, but once implemented, you may not think too much about them moving forward. You prefer mind-space to be occupied by other things and being told what to do allows you to make what you trust are healthy changes in your life.

You appreciate the power of lists, especially if they are lists of actions that are easy to implement.

Potential weakness: You do not consider the “why” very often and if you receive false advice, it may take a while to change the habit.

Adding to your life! This approach to habit formation focuses on adding behaviors to your life.

You are more likely to focus on the benefits a behavior may have on your health and life prior to implementing that behavior.

You find it easier to execute desired habits when they are additions to your life. You find it harder to consciously stop or minimize habits you already have. There may be identifiable barriers that keep you from stopping certain habits.
